Clemson looks to prolong Georgia Tech’s offensive struggles
Clemson is on fire lately, and they’re heading to Atlanta on Tuesday to take on Georgia Tech in an ACC matchup. Both teams have very different vibes right now: Clemson’s cruising, while Georgia Tech is looking for answers.
Clemson’s Hot Streak
Clemson’s been killing it, winning four out of their last five games. They just crushed Florida State 77-57 on Saturday, and Chase Hunter was the star of the show with 25 points in his 150th game for the Tigers. This guy is clutch—he’s putting up 17.6 points per game, hitting nearly 45% of his threes, and leading his team like a pro.
“Chase has been amazing,” said Clemson coach Brad Brownell. “He’s versatile, unselfish, and just a guy you can count on every game.”
Beyond Hunter, Clemson’s got depth. Ian Schieffelin is a double-double machine with 12.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, and Viktor Lakhin adds another solid 10.3 points. This team is clicking right when it matters most.
Georgia Tech’s Struggles
Meanwhile, Georgia Tech isn’t having the best time. After a nice three-game winning streak, they’ve dropped two straight. Their latest loss was rough—a 93-71 beatdown at SMU where they trailed 50-19 at halftime. Ouch.
Coach Damon Stoudamire didn’t sugarcoat it. “When we share the ball, we’re pretty good. But when we don’t? That’s what happens,” he said.
The bright spot for Tech? Javian McCollum. He came off the bench for 20 points against SMU and has been solid all season, averaging 12.5 points. Lance Terry leads the team with 15.4 points per game, but the Yellow Jackets need to get it together if they want to hang with Clemson.
Why This Game Matters
For Clemson, this is a chance to keep building their NCAA Tournament resume and avoid any bad losses. For Georgia Tech, it’s about stopping the skid and proving they can hang with a team as hot as Clemson.
What to Watch For
Clemson’s depth and Hunter’s leadership are huge advantages, but Tech will be hoping their home crowd gives them some energy. If they can find their offensive groove and keep turnovers in check, they might make it interesting.
Tip-off is Tuesday night in Atlanta. Can Clemson stay hot, or will Georgia Tech pull off the upset? We’ll see!
