UConn Looks to End Struggles on Lowly Seton Hall’s Floor
UConn heads to Newark, N.J., on Saturday looking to break its losing streak at Seton Hall while riding the momentum of a dramatic road win over No. 24 Creighton.
UConn Riding High After Gritty Comeback Win
The Huskies (17-7, 9-4 Big East) overcame a 14-point deficit to stun Creighton 70-66 on Tuesday, fueled by Liam McNeeley’s breakout 38-point performance. It was UConn’s first win after dropping out of the AP Top 25, something coach Dan Hurley isn’t overly concerned about.

“No one gets crowned in February,” Hurley said. “There are no crowns handed out for a while here.”
Hurley, a Seton Hall alum, has been fiery on the sidelines, even taunting Creighton fans on his way off the court by gesturing to his hand and saying, “Two rings!”
Seton Hall’s Nightmare Season Continues
While UConn is chasing another deep March run, Seton Hall (6-18, 1-12) is enduring its worst season in years. The Pirates have lost 14 of their last 15 games, including a 60-46 loss to Georgetown last Saturday.
The Pirates are near the bottom of Division I in scoring (62.4 PPG), and injuries have only made things worse. Leading scorer Isaiah Coleman (14.9 PPG) had 21 points against Georgetown, but Dylan Addae-Wusu, Chaunce Jenkins, and Scotty Middleton remain sidelined.
“They haven’t been practicing or doing anything,” coach Shaheen Holloway said. “The bye week came at a good time for us. Just got to continue to keep battling. This is part of the journey.”
Huskies Seeking First Road Win at Seton Hall Since 2020
UConn has struggled at Seton Hall in recent years, losing three straight road games to the Pirates. However, this is a far weaker Seton Hall team than in the past.
With McNeeley now leading the Huskies in scoring (15.4 PPG), alongside Solo Ball (14.8 PPG) and Alex Karaban (14.2 PPG), UConn is looking to avoid another letdown in Big East play.
