The Demon Deacons (18-6, 10-3 ACC) have reached double-digit conference wins for the fourth straight season. Their latest victory came in a 76-66 road win over Cal on Saturday, which completed a sweep of the ACC’s new Bay Area members, Cal and Stanford.

Cameron Hildreth has been on fire lately, recording at least 20 points in five of his last seven games. He led Wake Forest in scoring during the West Coast swing, posting 22 points against Stanford and 23 against Cal while shooting a combined 15-for-21 from the field.

“We’ve had great togetherness and chemistry within our team,” Wake Forest coach Steve Forbes said. “It’s a hard trip. I’m not complaining because I know Cal and Stanford have to come back our way four or five times.”

The trip wasn’t without complications, as travel delays forced the team to split up. A private plane helped bring eight players and staff back to Winston-Salem earlier than the rest.

Despite the travel challenges, Wake Forest remains focused on defending its home court, where it is a perfect 13-0 this season.

Florida State Looking for Late-Season Momentum

Florida State (14-9, 5-7) is hoping to make a push in the final stretch of ACC play, and this will be the Seminoles’ final visit to Winston-Salem under retiring coach Leonard Hamilton.

“Coach Hamilton’s teams, they’re just so disruptive defensively,” Forbes said. “It makes playing against them very challenging.”

The Seminoles snapped a two-game skid with a 67-60 home win over Notre Dame on Saturday, led by Malique Ewin’s 18 points and 10 rebounds. It was his eighth double-double of the season.

Hamilton wants his team focused on one game at a time.

“We can’t look too far down the road,” Hamilton said. “We have to worry about what we can control, and that’s just our preparation each day.”
