Boston vs. Anaheim Key Information

  • Teams: Bruins at Ducks

  • Date: Wednesday, March 26th
  • Betting Odds ANA -121 | BOS +102 O/U 6

The Bruins Can Win If…

Boston improved to 30-33-9 with a 2-0 win over the Kraken. The Bruins covered the puck line as -1.5 goal favorites, and the total of 6 goals went under, with both teams combining for just 2 goals.

Both of Boston’s goals came in the first period. Justin Brazeau scored at 3:23, and Charlie Coyle added another at 9:57. The Bruins’ defense held Seattle scoreless, with Jeremy Swayman stopping all 23 shots he faced.

Boston’s offense got off to a quick start in their 2-0 win over Seattle, with both goals coming in the first period. Justin Brazeau netted his 5th goal of the season, while Charlie Coyle added his 2nd, which came on a power play.

The Bruins fired 33 shots on goal and recorded 16 giveaways. They had four assists, with Brad Marchand picking up his 7th assist of the season on Coyle’s power-play goal.

Defensively, the Bruins were outstanding, shutting out the Kraken in a 2-0 win. Jeremy Swayman made 23 saves with a 100% save percentage, while the Bruins’ defense added 5 takeaways and 15 hits.

  • Across Boston’s last three regular season games, their record sits at 0-3. Their record against the puck line in this stretch is 0-3 to go along with an over-under mark of 2-1.
  • Across Boston’s last ten regular season games, their record sits at 2-8. Their record against the puck line in this stretch is 3-7 to go along with an over-under mark of 5-5.

The Ducks Can Win If…

Anaheim’s 4-2 loss to the Blackhawks dropped their record to 30-32-8. The Ducks were favored on the puck line, and the pre-game total was set at 6.5 goals, but the combined 6 goals fell just short of the over.

The Ducks allowed the first four goals in the game, with Chicago scoring twice in the first period. Anaheim’s offense came to life in the third period, but it was too late to mount a comeback.

Anaheim’s offense took 39 shots on goal in their 4-2 loss to Chicago, but only found the net twice. Brock McGinn scored his second goal of the season, while Mason McTavish added a power-play goal, also his second of the year.

Troy Terry, with his fifth assist of the season, and Ryan Strome, with his fourth, contributed to McTavish’s goal. The Ducks were held scoreless until the 9:44 mark of the third period.

Anaheim’s defense struggled early, giving up the first two goals in the opening period and another late in the second, all before the Ducks got on the board. Lukas Dostal made 25 saves with a save percentage of 86.2%. Defensively, the Ducks finished with 6 takeaways and 15 hits.

  • Across Anaheim’s last three regular season games, their record sits at 1-2. Across this span, their puck line record sits at 2-1 to go along with an over-under mark of 2-1.
  • Across Anaheim’s last ten regular season games, their record sits at 3-7. In these contests, the team went just 7-3 against the spread, while going 5-5 on the over-under.

The Lean

If you’re looking for a moneyline pick, my choice is the Ducks to take down the Bruins at home. With the moneyline currently at -121, I’m placing my bet on the Ducks straight-up.

For a puck line prediction, our preference is the Ducks to secure a win and cover. Anticipate the Ducks to win this one by multiple goals over the Bruins.

If you’re looking at the over/under line set at 6 goals, our prediction is that this game will exceed that mark, and we strongly advise placing a bet on the over.

Bruins Aim to Regain Composure, Halt Slide vs. Ducks

Two teams clinging to slim postseason hopes face off Wednesday night in Anaheim as the slumping Boston Bruins look to stop a six-game skid against the Ducks, who are nearing must-win territory with less than three weeks left in the NHL regular season.

Boston’s Skid Hits Six Games

The Bruins (30-33-9, 69 points) have unraveled in March, dropping six straight contests (0-5-1), including three consecutive road games. The most recent setback was a 7-2 thumping at the hands of the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday. That defeat marked the fourth time in six games the Bruins have surrendered at least five goals.

Offensively, the issues are just as glaring. Boston has scored more than two goals only once during this stretch and continues to struggle on special teams, ranking 29th in the NHL on the power play (14.6 percent).

Center Casey Mittelstadt acknowledged the pressure is mounting.

“Maybe you’re gripping your stick a little more than normal,” he said. “It comes down to playing your game, playing with some poise and some calm.”

Bright spots remain few, but Morgan Geekie has emerged as a consistent contributor, reaching the 25-goal mark with a tally in Sunday’s loss. Goaltender Jeremy Swayman, however, continues to search for form. The $66 million netminder owns a .892 save percentage and has allowed four or more goals in four straight starts.

On the injury front, star defenseman Charlie McAvoy returned to practice in a non-contact jersey but will not play on this road trip.

Anaheim Hanging On to Faint Hopes

The Ducks (25-36-6, 56 points) aren’t mathematically eliminated but sit well outside the playoff picture in the Western Conference. A 5-2 home loss to the Hurricanes on Sunday halted some momentum, though Anaheim had previously collected points in two of its last three.

Captain Radko Gudas believes these final weeks will test the team’s resolve.

“At this time of year, pretty much every team is in playoff mode,” he said. “It’ll be a fun challenge for us to see how some of the older, more experienced teams handle things.”

Alex Killorn has found his scoring touch lately, netting goals in back-to-back games and four of his last six. Alongside Jackson LaCombe and Trevor Zegras, the line has combined for five goals over the last two contests. Killorn’s presence has also helped rookie Leo Carlsson adjust as the Ducks look to build for the future.

One persistent issue for Anaheim remains its power play, which ranks 31st in the NHL at 12.6 percent. The Ducks went 0-for-6 with the man advantage against Carolina, failing to capitalize on extended opportunities.

Playoff Picture and Outlook

With both teams facing long odds in their respective conferences, Wednesday’s matchup is more about pride and momentum than realistic postseason positioning. For Boston, it’s about trying to stabilize before their final homestand. For Anaheim, it’s a chance to see continued growth from young players and veterans like Killorn stepping into leadership roles.
