The Flyers Can Win If…

The Flyers dropped to 28-34-8 after a 3-0 loss to the Bruins. Philadelphia’s offense struggled, managing only 20 shots on goal. The total was set at 6.5 goals, but the combined score of 3 fell well short of that mark. As the underdog on the puck line, the Flyers failed to cover.

Boston scored in each period, with the first goal coming at 6:32 in the opening frame. The Flyers’ defense allowed the final goal at 3:39 in the third period. Philadelphia’s giveaways were an issue, totaling 15 in the game.

Philadelphia’s offense was shut out in their 3-0 loss to Boston, managing 20 shots on goal but failing to find the net. The Flyers recorded 15 giveaways and were blanked in all three periods.

Despite their efforts, none of the Flyers’ players scored, and they ended the game without any assists. Philadelphia was unable to convert on any power play opportunities.

Philadelphia’s defense gave up the first goal 13:28 into the first period and another at 11:23 in the second. The Bruins added an empty netter late in the third, leading to a 3-0 loss for the Flyers. Samuel Ersson made 8 saves with a 100% save percentage, while the Flyers’ defense contributed 5 takeaways and 30 hits.

  • Philadelphia has put together a record of 0-3 in their last three games (regular season). Across these games, their puck line record was just 1-2, while posting an over-under record of 0-3.
  • Philadelphia has put together a record of 2-8 in their last ten games (regular season). In these contests, the team went just 3-7 against the spread, while going 3-7 on the over-under.

The Stars Can Win If…

The Stars fell to 43-22-4 after a 4-2 road loss to the Panthers. Dallas was the underdog on the puck line, and the total of 6.5 goals wasn’t reached, as the teams combined for 6 goals.

After trailing 2-0, the Stars tied it up in the second period, but the Panthers scored twice in the third to seal the win. Evgenii Dadonov and Matt Duchene each scored for Dallas.

Dallas took 25 shots on goal but only found the net twice in their 4-2 loss to Florida. Evgenii Dadonov scored his second goal of the season, while Matt Duchene added his seventh. Duchene also picked up his eighth assist on Dadonov’s power-play goal.

The Stars were held scoreless in the first period before netting both of their goals in the second. Miro Heiskanen recorded his fourth assist of the season, and Thomas Harley added his fifth. Dallas had 32 giveaways in the game.

Dallas’s defense gave up the first two goals against Florida, and after the Stars tied it at 2-2, they allowed two more, including the game-winner at 17:28 in the 3rd period. The Panthers also added an empty-netter with a minute left. Casey DeSmith recorded 21 saves with a save percentage of 87.5%.

  • The Stars have gone 1-2 over their last three regular season games. Across this span, their puck line record sits at 2-1 to go along with an over-under mark of 2-1.
  • Across Dallas’s last ten regular season games, their record sits at 6-4. Their record vs the puck line sits at 6-4 in these matchups, while posting a 6-4 over-under mark.

The Lean

If you’re considering a direct moneyline bet, the Stars is the choice to make. However, with a payout of -273, you might want to use this bet as a building block for a parlay.

If you’re looking for a puck line bet, I’d suggest going with the Flyers to cover. Even in the event of a Stars victory, this game is expected to be closely fought, and the Flyers should cover the puck line.

With an over/under line sitting at 5.5 goals, we like this game to surpass that mark and recommend getting a bet down on the over.

Stars Aim to Bounce Back Against Slumping Flyers

The Dallas Stars are looking to shake off a rough stretch and rediscover their rhythm as they host the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday afternoon. Despite holding onto second place in the Central Division, Dallas has been inconsistent since the trade deadline—and that inconsistency is starting to cause concern.

The Stars have gone 2-2-2 over their past six games, including a disappointing 3-2 shootout loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday. While goaltender Casey DeSmith stood tall, the team struggled with puck possession and intensity.

“Other than Casey DeSmith, they were harder, hungrier, heavier than us, which is inexcusable this time of year,” Stars head coach Peter DeBoer said.

Dallas currently clings to a three-point edge over the Colorado Avalanche for home-ice advantage in the first round, but the margin is slim—and the performance is slipping.

“We’ve been leaking a little bit over the last couple of weeks,” DeBoer added. “I thought that was about as bad as it has been (against the Lightning).”

Trade Deadline Splash Still Waiting to Spark

The Stars made headlines at the deadline by acquiring elite forward Mikko Rantanen from Carolina in a blockbuster move. Rantanen had an immediate impact with four points in his first four games but has since gone quiet over the last two.

Dallas is still figuring out how to fully integrate his talent into their system. DeBoer isn’t pushing the panic button yet but admits there are no shortcuts to regaining momentum.

“We’ll figure it out,” he said.

Flyers in a Freefall

If there was ever a time for Dallas to reset, this may be it. The Flyers have lost three straight and eight of their last nine games. Philadelphia hasn’t earned a regulation win since February 25 and continues to struggle offensively, averaging just 2.70 goals per game—26th in the league.

They recently ended a nine-period scoring drought with two goals in the third period of Thursday’s 3-2 loss to Washington, but it was too little, too late.

“You feel like you’re doing the right things, it’s just not going in,” said Flyers center Ryan Poehling. “Good for us to compete there at the end, show some pride and give us a chance to win.”

The power play has been a particular pain point for Philly. The Flyers are 0-for-25 with the man advantage in March and have even surrendered a shorthanded goal during that stretch.

“I hope we get confident scoring some goals,” said head coach John Tortorella. “The only way to do that is to score some goals.”

Forward Travis Konecny, one of the team’s leaders, remains optimistic but realistic.

“Obviously, some mistakes that we could clean up… We’ve been playing well against good teams for the most part and got to keep on going.”

Time for Dallas to Capitalize

This game sets up as a crucial get-right opportunity for the Stars. With the Flyers reeling and playoff positioning on the line, Dallas can’t afford to let this one slip.
