The Golden Knights Can Win If…
Vegas improved to 44-20-8 with a 4-3 overtime win against Utah. The Golden Knights trailed 2-0 before rallying to score four straight goals, including Brett Howden’s game-winner at 2:15 in OT.
As -1.5 goal favorites, Vegas failed to cover the puck line. The total was set at 6.5 goals, and the combined 7 goals surpassed that mark.
In their last game, the Golden Knights fired 35 shots on goal, with Brett Howden netting his 6th goal of the season in overtime. William Karlsson scored his 2nd goal of the year, while Noah Hanifin added his 2nd and picked up two assists, bringing his total to 5 this season.
Pavel Dorofeyev opened the scoring for Vegas, notching his 7th goal. The Knights were held scoreless in the first period before finding the net twice in the second, once in the third, and again in overtime. They recorded 13 giveaways in the game.
Defensively, the Golden Knights will look to improve after allowing Utah to score first and then tie the game at 3-3 in the third period. Adin Hill finished with a save percentage of 84.2% on 19 shots from Utah, while the defense recorded 10 takeaways and 22 hits.
- Spanning across their last three games, Vegas have gone 3-0. In these games, they have a 3-0 record vs the puck line and an over-under mark of 2-0-1.
- Through their last ten regular season contests, Vegas has a record of 6-4. The team’s record vs the puck line was just 6-4, in addition to an over-under mark of 6-3-1.
The Predators Can Win If…
Nashville improved to 27-37-8 with a 5-2 win over the Avalanche. The Predators covered the puck line as -1.5 goal favorites, and the total of 7 goals surpassed the pre-game line of 6.5.
After falling behind 1-0 early in the second period, the Predators responded with five straight goals. Five different players scored for Nashville in the game.
Nashville’s offense found the net five times in their 5-2 win over Colorado, with two of those goals coming on empty nets. The Predators were held scoreless in the first period before Steven Stamkos netted his second goal of the season on a power play. Colton Sissons followed with his first goal of the year.
Roman Josi added his first goal of the season, also on a power play. Filip Forsberg scored his seventh goal, while Gustav Nyquist closed out the scoring with his fourth, one of the two empty-netters. Nashville took 25 shots on goal and recorded 15 giveaways.
Defensively, the Predators will look to build on their last performance, where they gave up just two goals to the Avalanche. Juuse Saros made 29 saves and posted a 93.5% save percentage. Nashville’s defense also registered 4 takeaways, 23 hits, and 25 blocks. Both goals they gave up came late in periods, with the first at 2:54 into the 2nd and the second at 17:43 into the 3rd.

The Lean
When it comes to a moneyline wager, I’m going with the Predators to defeat the Golden Knights while playing at home. Given the current moneyline odds at +134, I’m placing a wager on the Predators to win outright.
Our projections have the Predators pulling out a win as the underdog. But if you’re not as bullish as we are on the Predators, we’d recommend at least getting a bet down on them to cover the puck line.
When considering the over/under line, which is currently at 6 goals, we believe that this game will go over that threshold, and we recommend wagering on the over.
Golden Knights Rolling, Predators Reflecting Ahead of Saturday Matchup
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vegas Golden Knights will look to keep their playoff momentum rolling when they visit the Nashville Predators on Saturday night. While Vegas pushes toward the postseason on a five-game win streak, the Predators are already looking ahead to a long offseason after being officially eliminated from playoff contention.
Vegas Eyes Clean Finish to Road Trip
The Golden Knights (44-20-8, 96 points) remain atop the Pacific Division with a comfortable seven-point lead over the Los Angeles Kings and just 10 games left on their regular-season slate. Despite a sluggish first two periods Friday in Chicago, Vegas rallied for a 5-3 win behind a three-goal third period, including the game-winner from Victor Olofsson, who ended a 20-game goal drought with two critical tallies.
It was a performance that highlighted Vegas’ hallmark traits: scoring depth, poise under pressure, and championship-level resolve.
“We knew we weren’t at our best,” defenseman Noah Hanifin said. “But we came together in the third and made it count.”
Hanifin pointed to Saturday’s game in Nashville as another critical opportunity for the Knights to stay sharp and focused heading into the final stretch of the season.
Predators Playing Out the String After Crushing Elimination
For the Predators (27-37-8, 62 points), Thursday’s 3-2 loss to St. Louis mathematically ended any hope of a playoff appearance, though the reality set in well before then.
“I know it’s the numbers, but I feel like we were eliminated a long time ago,” said veteran forward Ryan O’Reilly, reflecting on what has been a deeply disappointing campaign.
Nashville’s season began with optimism following offseason acquisitions of O’Reilly, Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault, and Brady Skjei. But a lack of offensive production — they rank dead last in the NHL in goals scored — and inconsistency on the road have plagued the Predators all year.
Thursday’s blown 2-0 lead against the Blues encapsulated the season’s frustration.
“It pretty much epitomizes the whole year in one game,” coach Andrew Brunette said.

What to Watch Saturday
Vegas is aiming to polish off a perfect three-game road trip and maintain its grip on the Pacific crown. With Jonathan Marchessault, Jack Eichel, and Olofsson heating up, and the Knights getting timely goaltending, they’ll be heavy favorites against a deflated Predators team.
Nashville, meanwhile, has 10 games left to evaluate young talent and salvage pride from a season that began with high expectations and unraveled quickly. Expect Filip Forsberg and the veterans to try and set a tone that could carry into the offseason.
