  • Betting Odds WPG -120 | NAS +100 O/U 5.5

The Jets Can Win If…

The Jets improved to 42-14-3 with a 7-4 win over the Lightning. Winnipeg was favored on the puck line and covered easily, with the total of 11 goals surpassing the pre-game line of 6.5.

Winnipeg fell behind 2-0 early, but seven different players scored for the Jets. They took the lead for good with a goal at 15:57 in the third period and added two empty-netters to seal the victory.

Winnipeg’s offense fired 34 shots on goal, finding the net 7 times in their 7-4 win over Tampa Bay. Each of the Jets’ 7 goals came from different players, with Vladislav Namestnikov scoring his 3rd goal of the season and Cole Perfetti adding his 4th on an empty net with 37 seconds left.

After a first-period goal from Namestnikov, Logan Stanley scored his 1st goal of the season in the 2nd period. Mark Scheifele added his 8th goal, while Dylan Samberg netted his 3rd. Nikolaj Ehlers scored his 9th goal, also on an empty net. The Jets recorded 10 assists in the game, with Josh Morrissey picking up his 13th assist on Perfetti’s empty-netter.

Defensively, the Jets will look to improve after allowing the first goal at 13:11 in the first period and another at 11:58. They also gave up a goal at 11:21 in the second and one more at 13:09 in the third. Connor Hellebuyck made 26 saves with an 86.7% save percentage, while the defense recorded 5 takeaways and 31 hits.

  • Winnipeg will look to keep things rolling as they have put together a mark of 3-0 over their past three games. However, they have only gone 1-2 vs. the puck line over this stretch. Their over-under record in these three games was 1-2.
  • Winnipeg has put together a record of 10-0 in their last ten games (regular season). Against the spread, Winnipeg went 7-3 in these games and finished with an over-under mark of 6-4.

The Predators Can Win If…

The Predators improved to 20-30-7 with a 5-2 win over the Avalanche. Nashville, favored by -1.5 goals, covered the puck line. The total was set at 6.5 goals, and the combined score of 7 exceeded that mark.

After falling behind 1-0 in the second period, the Predators responded with five straight goals. All five goals came from different players, and two of them were empty-netters.

Nashville’s offense netted five goals in their 5-2 win over Colorado, with five different players finding the back of the net. After a scoreless first period, Steven Stamkos got things going with his 2nd goal of the season, followed by Colton Sissons’ 1st. Roman Josi added his 1st goal of the year on a power play, while Filip Forsberg scored his 7th on an empty net. Gustav Nyquist wrapped up the scoring with his 4th, also on an empty net.

The Predators took 25 shots on goal and picked up two power-play goals. They recorded 15 giveaways and added two more empty-net goals late in the game.

Nashville’s defense gave up the first goal 2:54 into the second period and another late in the third, but they held on for a 5-2 win over Colorado. Juuse Saros made 29 saves with a 93.5% save percentage. Defensively, the Predators finished with 4 takeaways and 23 hits.

  • Through their last three regular season contests, Nashville has a record of 1-2. Against the spread, Nashville went 1-2 in these games and finished with an over-under mark of 0-3.
  • Through their last ten regular season contests, Nashville has a record of 2-8. In these matchups, they ended with an puck line record of 2-8 and an over-under mark of 5-5.

The Lean

When it comes to a moneyline wager, I’m going with the Predators to defeat the Jets while playing at home. Given the current moneyline odds at +100, I’m placing a wager on the Predators to win outright.

If you’re looking to get a bet down on this matchup, we foresee the Predators winning the underdog. However, if you’re not as confident in the Predators straight-up, we’d still recommend placing a bet on them to cover the puck line.

With an over/under line sitting at 5.5 goals, we like this game to surpass that mark and recommend getting a bet down on the over.

NHL Betting Predictions Inside

Jets Look to Extend Historic Streak Against Struggling Predators

The Winnipeg Jets are the hottest team in the NHL, and they’ll put their franchise-record 11-game winning streak on the line Thursday night when they visit the Nashville Predators.

Winnipeg hasn’t lost since Jan. 20, climbing to the top of the NHL standings in the process. However, their latest victory—a 4-1 win over Ottawa on Wednesday—wasn’t as dominant as the final score suggested. The Jets struggled in the early going and leaned heavily on goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to keep the Senators from capitalizing.

Meanwhile, the Predators are trending in the opposite direction, losing eight of their last 10 games and sinking further out of playoff contention. To make matters worse, they could be without captain Roman Josi, who suffered an upper-body injury in Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to Florida.

It’s a classic matchup of a team riding high versus one searching for answers, and all eyes will be on whether Winnipeg can keep their streak alive.

Jets Overcoming Flaws to Keep Winning

Winnipeg’s 11-game run has been built on strong team defense and elite goaltending, but head coach Scott Arniel wasn’t thrilled with how his team played in Ottawa.

“It’s bound to happen,” Arniel said after the win. “We couldn’t make a play. We weren’t connecting. We did a lot of things uncharacteristic. But at the end of the day, we played a lot better in the third period and did a lot of good things.”

Despite the sloppy play, the Jets jumped out to a 3-0 lead and did enough to get the win. Cole Perfetti, who opened the scoring, acknowledged that the team hasn’t been perfect but continues to find ways to win.

“We’ve won 11 in a row, and not every game is going to be great, but we’re still finding ways to win when we’re not at our best, and I think that says a lot about our group,” Perfetti said.

The team’s defensive struggles early against Ottawa suggest backup goaltender Eric Comrie could get the start in net Thursday. If so, Winnipeg’s skaters will need to be more disciplined defensively to avoid giving Nashville easy scoring chances.

Predators Searching for Offense Amid Struggles

Nashville has been one of the league’s coldest teams, and their recent performances have all but ended their playoff hopes. They sit 30th overall in the NHL standings, 18 points out of a playoff spot, and have scored two or fewer goals in eight of their last 10 games.

Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to Florida was yet another frustrating night for the Predators, made worse by Josi’s injury. Head coach Andrew Brunette acknowledged the uncertainty of his captain’s status moving forward.

“I don’t really know, I’m not a doctor,” Brunette said. “With those things, it’s day-to-day, week-to-week, or it could be season-ending. We don’t really know.”

Without Josi, Nashville will be even more challenged offensively, as he is one of their top playmakers from the blue line.

Goaltender Juuse Saros continues to give the team a chance every night, but without offensive support, his efforts often go to waste.

“You need to score to win in this league,” defenseman Luke Schenn said. “We get some big saves all the time. But you feel for both goalies, especially (Saros). He doesn’t get much support.”

With morale low and frustration mounting, forward Michael McCarron emphasized the importance of playing with pride, even if the postseason is out of reach.

“Just play with pride … no matter what happens throughout the rest of the year,” McCarron said. “As a team, I don’t think we’ve really played too many full 60-minute games this year.”

What’s at Stake?

For Winnipeg, this is an opportunity to keep their incredible winning streak alive while maintaining their place atop the NHL standings. A 12th straight win would add to their momentum as they push toward playoff positioning.

For Nashville, this is more about finding something to build on after a disastrous stretch. With Josi’s status uncertain, the Predators will need other players to step up if they want to avoid another one-sided loss.

With one team soaring and the other sinking, Thursday’s game could either be another chapter in Winnipeg’s historic run or a rare bright spot for Nashville in an otherwise disappointing season.
