2024 NFL Week 14 Odds and Predictions

Week 14 of the 2024-25 NFL Season sees the calendars change over to December as teams and fans slowly readjust after the long holiday weekend, which includes food, family, travel, Thanksgiving football games and an enticing Black Friday football matchup. 

The week kicks off with an intense NFC North battle on Thursday Night Football as the Detroit Lions host the Green Bay Packers. These two teams will be fighting for the division crown and a spot in the Playoffs. Although it’s the first matchup on the football docket, this TNF game will most likely be the best game of Week 14. 

However, that’s not the only exciting divisional battle of the week. Other Week 14 division grudge matches include the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans, New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals, and Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. 

If the Packers vs. Lions is the featured bout of the week, then the Buffalo Bills vs. Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals vs. Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football are the co-main event matchups. 

Week 14 is the final Bye Week of the season, but it also has the most teams on hiatus with six: Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. Ironically, the Ravens and Texans will battle against each other on Christmas Day in three weeks.

Key NFL Week 14 Games

With Week 14 of the NFL season featuring most of the NFL teams, there are a few key Week 14 games that stand out from the rest:

As mentioned, the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions open the Week 14 action on Thursday Night Football. Their first battle of the season comes in Week 9 on November 3. Since that game hasn’t happened yet, we can’t use that result when looking at the trends for this rivalry. 

Not including Week 9’s matchup, these two teams have played against each other 189 times. Surprisingly, over their long tenures in the NFL, they’ve only played against each other twice in the postseason. The Packers have a commanding lead in this rivalry with a 106-76-7 record. 

Last November, the Packers upset the Lions at home and snapped a four-game losing streak against their divisional rival. The Packers are 3-2 in their last five trips to Detroit. However, the Lions do have a slight advantage at home against the Packers with a 47-44-3 record. 

Will we see a season sweep? Will the winner of this game be in the driver’s seat to win the NFC North title? 

This AFC South matchup features two teams that aren’t looked upon with a lot of confidence and favor heading into the regular season. Yet, this could be the week that the loser is eliminated from making the Playoffs, so this game has extra importance for both teams. 

Another newsworthy item about these teams, is that they play against each other for a second time three weeks later. So, the loser can certainly get revenge and definitely hinder the winner’s chances of making the Playoffs. 

These two teams have played against each other 59 times and the Tennessee Titans hold the advantage with a 35-24 series record. The Jacksonville Jaguars have won three of the last four matchups in this series. 

The Titans have won nine of the last 10 meetings in Tennessee and have an all-time record of 19-10 against the Jaguars in home games. 

Will the Titans continue their home dominance over the Jaguars or can Jacksonville pick up a crucial road win within the division?

This AFC East clash will be the first of two meetings between these rivals over the final five weeks of the season. Not only will they play in Week 14, but they will also play in Week 18. 

Both games will be significant for each team’s conference and divisional records. Yet, the Week 18 contest could decide which team makes the Playoffs and which one is sitting at home for the postseason.

After 117 games against each other, the Miami Dolphins hold the slight advantage with a 60-56-1 record in this rivalry. The Dolphins are 11-2 over the last 13 meetings including winning three games in a row over the New York Jets. Miami has gone 3-1 in their last four games at New York. The Jets have a 31-27 record in home games against the Dolphins. 

Can the Dolphins extending their winning ways against the Jets or will New York get revenge against Miami? 

Week 14 sees an interesting AFC vs. NFC clash as the Buffalo Bills head to So-Cal to take on the Los Angeles Rams. The last time we saw these two teams play against each other, Buffalo went into LA and crushed the Rams 31-10. And, the Bills did this while the Rams were hanging up their Super Bowl banners. 

Buffalo has won three consecutive games in this series and have gone 4-1 in the last five meetings. In fact, the Bills are 9-2 in the last 11 matchups and 9-5 overall in this series. 

Making matters even worse for Los Angeles is the fact that Buffalo has won four straight road games in this series. The Rams are just 2-4 in home games versus the Bills. 

Can Buffalo extend their winning streak to five games at Los Angeles or will the Rams finally get a home win over the Bills?

Week 14 not only opens up with an exciting matchup between the Packers and Lions, but it also closes with a thrilling Monday Night Football clash as the Dallas Cowboys host the Cincinnati Bengals. 

For the Bengals, this series has been a nightmare that they’re hoping to wake up from. Cincinnati is 4-10 all-time against the Cowboys and have lost five in a row versus Dallas. 

The Cowboys are 7-1 in home games versus the Bengals and have won five in a row. Cincy has not won at Dallas since November 1988. The two teams last played in 2022, and the Cowboys won 20-17. 

Can Joe Burrow lead the Bengals to a big road win on Monday Night Football or will Dak Prescott and the Cowboys continue their home cooking with another victory against Cincinnati?
