No, you are not experiencing dejavu. Tennis’ top male players are competing at Roland Garros for the second time in the last few months. The home of tennis’ second annual Grand Slam, the French Open, will host the men’s and women’s tennis tournaments for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

As both the ATP and WTA just finished up the 2024 Wimbledon Championships this past weekend, the sport’s biggest stars will make their way to France with dreams of winning the gold medal. Tennis is one of the first sports to begin competition at the Summer Olympics. The men’s and women’s tennis tournament will start on July 27th.

Fresh off his second straight Wimbledon title, Carlos Alcaraz is the odds-on favorite to win the men’s tennis gold medal in Paris. He’s followed by Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev on the boards. Zverev is the reining gold medal winner, having won in Tokyo.

If you are looking to bet on the Olympics, keep reading below as we dive into the latest Paris Games Men’s Tennis odds and make our Summer Olympics Men’s Tennis predictions.

Paris Olympics Men’s Tennis Favorites

The following players are considered the odds-on favorites to win men’s tennis gold in the Paris Olympics:

Carlos Alcaraz +150

In all honesty, I’m surprised that Carlos Alcaraz’s odds aren’t even lower. He is clearly the best men’s tennis player in the world having won Wimbledon this month and the French Open last month. In fact, Alcaraz has won four of the last seven Grand Slams that he has entered. And, guess what, he’s only 21 years old.

Many fans and pundits wondered who would take the baton from the greatest era of stars (Djokovic, Nadal, Federer). We now know that person is Alcaraz.

The Spaniard is an Australian Open away from winning every Grand Slam in his career. His first Grand Slam win came in the 2022 US Open where he beat Casper Rudd. He would miss the 2023 Australian Open before making at least the Semi Finals in the remaining three Grand Slams of the year. Alcaraz would win his first Wimbledon title, but fall short in the French Open and US Open.

This year, Alcaraz lost in the Quarter Finals of the Australian Open, which is the furthest he’s gone in that tournament. However, he would bounce back to win the French Open by defeating Alexander Zverev. And, for the second straight year, Alcaraz would beat “The GOAT” Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon.

Alcaraz is a strong clay-court player, which makes him event more dangerous at the Olympics. He’s 18-3 all-time at Roland Garros and is arguably the best player on this surface in 2024.

Jannik Sinner +300

Jannik Sinner stormed his way up the rankings to #1 in the world last month after winning 25 of his first 26 matches including the 2024 Australian Open. That was the first Grand Slam win of his career. Skinner was bounced in the Semi Finals of The French Open and the Quarter Finals of Wimbledon.

Skinner is 16-5 all-time at Roland Garros and really showed his growth by making the SF of this year’s French Open. He lost to Alcaraz in a five-set battle. Unfortunately, Skinner is now 0-2 against Alcaraz. Despite the rankings, the latter is still the best player in men’s tennis. Skinner’s best chance at winning gold is if Alcaraz gets knocked out earlier.

Our best chance at an entertaining gold medal game is if Skinner and Alcaraz meet in the tournament’s final match.

Novak Djokovic +350

Although John McEnroe and Roger Federer are my favorite tennis players of all-time, Novak Djokovic is The GOAT when it comes to Grand Slam play. In fact, he’s the consensus pick for the GOAT of men’s tennis.

What can we say about the man, that hasn’t already been said many times over?

He’s won 24 Grand Slams with a 375-50 record in those tournaments. Of the four Grand Slams, Djokovic only has three French Open titles, which is the least of his illustrious career. At the other end of the spectrum is Djokovic’s 10 Australian Open titles. He also has seven Wimbledon wins, but lost the last two to Alcaraz.

Last year, Djokovic won three of the four Grand Slams and was well on his way to a strong 2024 season. Although he slipped up in the 2024 Australian Open, Djokovic was favored to win the French Open. Unfortunately, he sustained a knee injury which resulted in a procedure for a torn meniscus.

For the first time since an abysmal 2017, Djokovic hasn’t won one of the first three Grand Slams in a season. This feat has only happened twice since 2010, when Djokovic first rose to the upper echelon of the sport.

At 37 years old, having not beaten a Top 10 player on clay in over a year, and playing on one good knee, it’s hard to feel confident in Djokovic defeating Skinner or Alcaraz at Paris. I’ll certainly be rooting for him, but it’s an uphill battle for the Djoker.

Alexander Zverev +500

As mentioned above, Alexander Zverev is the defending Men’s Tennis gold medalist. Let’s not forget that he did beat Djokovic along the way to winning gold. And, that was a massive accomplishment as Djoker was easily the clear-cut best male tennis player in the world at that time.

This year, the 27-year-old lost in the Semi Finals of the Australian Open and then fell short at Roland Garros against Alcaraz. The German star was one set away from winning his first ever Grand Slam, but left the door open and Alcaraz stormed through to win the French Open in a five-set thriller.

Zverev has won 21 of his last 24 matches at Roland Garros. Prior to this Finals appearance, he had three straight Semi Finals appearances. For his career, Zverev is 34-9 at this venue.

I like his chances more than Skinner or Djokovic to win the men’s tennis gold medal. It will all come down to the Draw.

Best Paris Olympics Men’s Tennis Betting Value

The following tennis players offer the best betting value for the Paris Games:

Casper Ruud +1200

If there’s anyone who can upset the status quo at Paris, it’s definitely Casper Rudd. The 24-year-old might not be a great player on other surfaces, but he’s one of the best in the world on clay. Ruud was bounced in the second round of Wimbledon and the third round of the Australian Open this year. However, in-between those two Grand Slams, was a Semi Finals appearance at the French Open.

It was the third straight year that Ruud has made it to at least the Semi Finals. The previous two years, he lost in the finals to the all-time greats. In 2022, Ruud lost to Rafael Nadal. Last year, he lost to Djokovic.

For his career, the Norwegian star is 23-7 at Roland Garros. He’s gone 21-5 on clay over the last year, which includes going 6-2 against Top-20 ranked opponents. Look for Rudd to make a strong run at the Olympics. He should come away with a medal. The only question is which one.

Daniil Medvedev +2500

Surprisingly, Medvedev has never even made it to the Semi Finals of the French Open. It’s a surprise because he’s been great on other surfaces. On hard courts, he’s won the US Open and has two other Finals appearances, including last year. He also has three Finals appearances in the Australian Open. On grass, he’s got two straight Semi Finals appearances at Wimbledon. Yet, at Roland Garros, he can’t get beyond the 4th Round.

With that said, there are a few things working for Medvedev at Paris. He’s made it to the Round of 16 in 14 of his last 15 Grand Slams, which should bode well for the Russian star to make it far in Paris. Another thing in his favor is that he’s hardly ever upset. His consistency is a good trait to have in a pressure-packed tournament.

Lastly, Medvedev is 12-7 against Zverev and 7-5 against Skinner in head-to-head matchups. However, he is only 2-5 against Alcaraz. So, if he can avoid the Spaniard until the end, then the 28-year-old has a chance to play for a medal in Paris.

Best Paris Olympics Men’s Tennis Sleeper

Rafael Nadal (+750) certainly isn’t a sleeper in the sport of tennis. And, his odds don’t reflect a longshot or sleeper label. His decline in play makes him a sleeper, but this is also a chance for me to talk about one of the all-time greats.

Nadal is the “King of Clay,” having won 14 French Open titles. Of course, that’s the most all-time for men or women. He has an amazing 112-4 record at Roland Garros.

Unfortunately, he was bounced in the first round of the French Open this year by Zverev. His sole focus for 2024, was to play at The French Open and the Paris Olympics. He skipped Wimbledon to continue his Olympic preparations.

Nadal won individual gold in the 2008 Olympics at Beijing. He also picked up a doubles gold in Rio (2016). But if he can win at Roland Garros, it would go down as one of the greatest performances in the history of this wonderful sport.

Paris Olympics Men’s Tennis Predictions: Who Wins Gold?

We’re writing this well-ahead of the Draw, which will definitely impact predictions. Nevertheless, I can’t see how anyone in their right mind would pick against Alcaraz at this point in time. The Spaniard is coming off a Wimbledon title in early-July and a French Open title in early-June.

Alcaraz is 3-1 against Zverev in clay-court matches including winning the Finals match of the French Open at Roland Garros in June. He’s also 1-0 against Skinner at Roland Garros, having beat Jannik in the Semifinals of this year’s tournament.

The only players that can beat Alcaraz in Paris, is a healthy Novak Djokovic or a younger Nadal. Since neither version of those players will be in the Paris Olympics, Alcaraz is going to punctuate his rise to the top of men’s tennis with a gold medal.

I like Zverev to get the silver and Ruud to get the bronze. Of course, that order could be reversed as well. Although my heart is rooting for a Djokovic vs. Nadal gold medal tie, my mind and money are rolling with Alcaraz.

Bet: Carlos Alcaraz +150
